Born in Portugal, Rica Caroco is an experienced sonographer fluent in Portuguese and English, with a working knowledge of Spanish. Her passion for medical imaging, particularly ultrasound, began early in her career and was further nurtured when she was selected for a competitive training position at University College London Hospitals (UCLH). Since qualifying in 2017, she has dedicated herself to the field with a strong commitment to patient-centred care.

Rica Caroco completed her radiography degree at Escola Superior de Tecnologias da Saúde de Lisboa (ESTeSL) in Lisbon, and went on to obtain her postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound from City, University of London. With a professional background in MRI, she has spent the last 11 years primarily working in hospital settings within the NHS, now focusing on ultrasound imaging.

A registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Ms Caroco is known for her calm, communicative approach, ensuring each patient feels heard and at ease. She takes pride in delivering high standards of care, finding great reward in both the technical precision and positive impact her work has on patient outcomes.
