What are Sexually Transmitted Infections?

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are transmitted between persons through any unprotected sexual contact, whether it is via vaginal, oral or anal sex. STIs can lie dormant for years, and the symptoms can easily be overlooked. This is why it is so important to take care of your sexual health by arranging STI tests and using a condom whenever possible.

Do you have any symptoms?

STIs can present themselves in a variety of ways. As a general rule, if you notice anything different or uncomfortable around your genitals, it is important to get it checked out. However, some STIs – such as chlamydia – have no physical symptoms. This is why it is important to arrange for regular testing if you actively have unprotected sex.

By taking early action, you can rule out any serious conditions or seek treatment as quickly as possible to avoid further complications. STI testing in should always be carried out at a sexual clinic staffed, where you can discuss your concerns in a private and professional setting.
